Business overview The Zambia Meteorological Department is an authoritative voice for weather and climate forecasting in Zambia and as a member of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) it complies with international meteorological standards. As an Aviation Meteorological Authority, ZMD is designated by the state to provide weather services to the aviation industry and to fulfill the international obligations of the government under the Convention of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). ZMD also provides maritime weather forecasting services for the lakes accross Zambia.
